"Resources and insight are so important through our journeys with cancer. Over the years I have received life-changing information and knowledge from wise, caring and professionals from a variety of charities, organisations and other sources. The information was so precious to me that I had to start a document to ensure it was saved somewhere safe so I would never forget! It is amazing news that Oncio will become a safe space of support and resources for everyone and their varying experiences with cancer. It's vital to have these spaces that really can empower people with accurate, safe, trusted information and services."

“In September, 2021 I was facing a major health crisis when diagnosed with ovarian cancer. As a practitioner I was in complete shock as I felt I ‘should have known’ the symptoms. The first three months after the initial diagnosis were filled with shock, fear, disbelief, appointments, biopsies, surgery & major decisions. Every single decision caused me immense fear. This led me on a chaotic search to find additional support alongside my conventional treatment. If I had access to the Oncio app, I would have felt much more supported and less fearful with the knowledge that this app has been developed to support patients on many different levels. I would have felt reassured that this was set up by leading UK experts who practice an evidence-informed and personalised approach when supporting patients on their cancer journey.”

“I started using integrative oncology as a patient in 2020 after being diagnosed with regional metastatic breast cancer, three years after a primary diagnosis and subsequent mastectomy. I have not looked back since. Integrative care has enabled me to transform my narrative from ill health to good health, from terminal illness to living in harmony with my body and spirit. Through diet, targeted supplementation and mind-body practices, I was able to sustain 6 months of chemotherapy followed by radiotherapy. I still remember today being able to walk in and out of the oncology day unit with a spring in my step after fifteen cycles of chemotherapy, rather than crutches or wheelchair, unfortunately unlike many fellow patients, often younger and with better prognosis..”

"Integrative oncology has given me greater insight into how my body is handling treatment and enabling me to optimise my outcomes. The Oncio app will enable more people to discover what additional resources are available to respond to those affected by cancer. For those diagnosed it extends their knowledge of treatment options and for those in the ‘support’ role it allows greater understanding of the patients position."

"I’ve had an acute sense that integrative treatment can be costly and so inaccessible to a large number of people with cancer. I am so pleased that the Oncio app will give this community the opportunity to have access to good quality information to help them make lifestyle choices, which can make a huge difference."

"The Oncio rescource would be fantastic, offering the best of both conventional and integrative medicine in one place. A cancer diagnosis is hard enough to manage without having to navigate the minefield of overwhelming information which is often outdated and unreliable. Oncio would provide the latest evidence based information in one easily accessible location, as a patient this would be extremely useful as a point of reference for everyone, who is living with cancer both directly or indirectly."

App User Testimonials

"The app is easy to use and provides a number of programs designed to support health and mental wellbeing during a patient's cancer journey. The daily activities in the program section such as help with general movement, mindfulness, and emotional freedom techniques keep things bite sized and manageable. And the explore section gives great links to nutritious recipes and how to eat well".

“The recipe section is the one that I've used the most. I feel that this section may be the one that other family members may also find useful. And a loved one has been treated for cancer being recovering from surgery, undergoing radiotherapy or having cycles of chemotherapy. We would all love to be there with them through their journey but from for the majority of their pathway, it is something that patients have to undergo on their own. lack of appetite from treatment either directly or indirectly, is a common side effect experienced by many patients undergoing cancer treatment. Having a healthy, tasty meal waiting for them at home, just two things. It continues to show patients they are loved and it may stimulate the appetite, both of which are great things.”

This app is bright and uplifting and in itself, groundbreaking in its simplicity range of uses and support. As it continues to develop, I believe it will become a welcome tool to anyone who has received a cancer diagnosis or is supporting someone close to them with a cancer diagnosis.

"A wonderful resource pulling together great health tech and expert information for cancer care in one place that's easy to use. I think it's going to be a great addition to the resources that are already there, but it's pulling together everything in one place".

“A new app that I feel could be a very useful resource for our patients and their partners as they undergo treatment for cancer. Kudos to Nina and team for infusing the Oncio app with their passion for scientific based integrative care. And adding a layer of attention to detail that I feel elevates this into something more than just another app. I've been lucky enough to be in beta testing the app for the last few weeks, and I found it wonderfully informative, and most importantly, easy to use.”

“As an oncologist in the NHS, I see a huge gap in the supportive elements for cancer patient care. People with cancer tell us that it is challenging to navigate the internet trying to find ways to integrate complementary with traditional oncological therapies. The ONCIO App is bridging that gap. It comes at the right time when patient demand for an integrative approach to cancer care has exceeded the capacity of oncology professionals in the NHS. It is an app free for people with cancer to use, which contains evidence-based information about integrative oncology, courses and tools that have been compiled by experienced clinicians who treat cancer patients.”
— Dr Penny Kechagioglou, Consultant Clinical Oncologist

"This app is going to be such a fantastic resource for people to know that they can go to one place and find safe, high levels of useful information in a really easy to access and digestible way. It's something that the oncology community has been waiting for for a long time as people often really struggle to know where to go and the information is really bitty. It’s a fantastic idea and I'm so excited to see it all coming together."
